Frequently Asked Questions

  • Do you only offer English as a Second Language (ESL) services?
Leadership & Language offers services in three areas: Leadership, Language and/or training. Language services are offered through out Bilingual Brains program. Leadership services are offered through our Master Minds Program. Training services are offered through our Development Dives program.
  • How do I know my ESL level so I can sign up for the right ESL class?
You can look at our blog (Which ESL level am I?) to find out more about which level of ESL you are at. If you are still unsure about your level you can always call to schedule a brief assessment and we will tell you what level will be your best choice.
  • Can I sign up for services if I live in a different timezone?
Yes. We offer virtual classes and workshops. You can sign up for any service you'd like. All services are listed in Central Standard Time (CST) because we are based in Houston, Texas. Just be sure you plan for the time difference when you put us in your calendar. We don't want you to miss your class.
  • What do I need to bring to ESL classes?
All learners should bring a notebook to class so you can take notes and write down important information. You will not be given a copy of the materials we use in class. You do not have to buy the text book but it is highly recommended you have a copy of the book used in class so you can study on your own, do the practice exercises and review what we do in class. All books are available on Amazon.
  • Do I have to sign up for the whole semester or can I take a class when I have time?
You do not have to sign up for the semester. You can take classes day by day whenever you have time but here are some differences you should know about. An open commitment course (OC) is one you can come to whenever you have time. The class uses mostly one book and you pay per class. A closed commitment course (CC) is a class you pay for by the semester. This course uses a lot of resources in addition to your textbook and gives learners more targeted practice. You also end up pay less overall for your classes and get more in return.
  • How much are classes or workshops?
All services include the cost in their descriptions. Depending on the service you sign up for will determine the cost you pay.
  • Do you have in person or face-to-face classes and workshops?
We only offer virtual services at this time. However, as the demand increases, we will begin to offer in person or face-to-face services in the Houston, Texas area.
  • What if I can't find the service I am looking for?
If you can't find the service you are looking for, it could mean a few things. One reason might be the service you are looking for isn't available at this time. It might also be a service you need to call and schedule an appointment for like consulting. You might also need to call first, and find out if you qualify for private tutoring before you are able to book that service. If you are unsure, contact us and we will help you out.
  • What if I am a business and I'd like to partner with you all?
Leadership & Language is always looking for exciting new ways to engage with the community through partnerships. If you are interested in partnering with us, please contact us. We would love to hear about how we might work together to further develop leadership, language, or training skills within your community.
